Increase Your 403(b)/457(b) Sales With Principal and Superintendent Meetings

Maria Navas, a 403(b)/457(b) Certified Agent, didn’t waste any time getting the New Year off to a great start. For months she had worked diligently to sponsor a breakfast meeting for more than 60 principals and a superintendent of Miami-Dade Public Schools.

“I contacted the principal who was hosting the regional meeting at his high school,” said Maria. “I offered to pay for the breakfast in exchange for 30 minutes on his program. I told him my intention was to educate the principals about our organization, and how we work with their teachers and school employees.”

On January 5, Maria’s hard work paid off. Maria, Chase Christopher and I got 30 minutes on the program. We talked about the importance of education and the need to save for retirement. We shared what we offer…safe and secure 403(b) annuities that protect premiums paid and earned interest from any market loss (assumes no withdrawals). We also pointed out National Life Group through LSW serves more than 1,800 Miami-Dade policyholders. They have saved more than $25 million in policy accumulation values.

Afterward, we had several principals ask us to do the same presentation for their staff and teachers. A few even asked us to review their own accounts. The superintendent also went out of his way to thank us for our presentation. Maria’s efforts resulted in appointments and future sales.

“I quit making New Year’s resolutions, because I never keep them anyway,” said Maria. “Instead I decided to take action in 2011. Next week, I am sponsoring an assistant principals’ luncheon meeting.”

Get your 2011 sales off to a great start! Sponsor a breakfast for the regional principal or superintendent meetings in your area. The cost can range from $500 to $750, depending on the number of participants. You also can just set a maximum dollar amount. Remember, the value of this event is your 20-to 30-minute presentation.

Sponsoring a meeting is an excellent way to advertise your business and increase your 403(b) and 457(b) sales!
