Important Reminder – New Texas CE Requirements Now Effective! Effective April 1, 2010, the state of Texas has required a four hour annuity training course for resident producers. If the producer does not complete the course by their license renewal date, they will be unable to sell annuities after that time. It is critical to comply with this TX regulation - if you haven't completed the CE course and your license has come up for renewal since April 1, you cannot sell annuities. What Courses Satisfy This Requirement? At this time, the LSW Certified program does NOT satisfy the Texas training requirement. To find a Texas-approved 4 hour annuity course go to: http://bit.ly/d19YMX. Click on Approved Courses Inquiry. From the drop down, select Texas. For Education Type select Continuing Education. For Course Category select “Cert Annuity” (not CE-Cert Annuity). This will show the initial 4 hour training course that producers need to complete. Our licensing and contracting systems are not updated with your new license expiration date if you have not completed the 4 hour training course. We have been notifying agents personally when we cannot verify the annuity training completion - please pay attention to notices you receive! What Happens to My Case If My License Has Expired and I Have Not Met the New CE Requirements? If you have submitted business and don't have the required training completed, your cases can't be issued. Once you receive your certification you will have to rewrite the case. We currently have cases in-house that cannot be issued because the CE requirement has not been met – don’t let this happen to you!
