Last week an e-mail was sent by Shawn Grimm of Houston Independent School District discussing HISD’s plans to begin using the Eligibility Certificate feature of Retirement Manager. The Eligibility Certificate feature replaces HISD Retirement Storefront personnel signature on transactional documents.

To help you begin using this new feature, HISD is hosting a Webinar on Friday April 9, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. Central Time. The Webinar will discuss the Retirement Manager Loan and Hardship Compliance Module created by VRSCO on behalf of HISD. This module will allow participants to access the Retirement Manager Website to request eligibility certificates for the following transactions:

• Loans
• Hardships
• In-Service Exchanges

Instructions for joining Friday’s Webinar are noted below. Please also print the Employee Eligibility Certificate Guide to have as a reference tool for the training session.

Instructions to connect to Training

  1. Click on the Webinar link(indicated above)
  2. Input your First Name, Last Name and Email Address
  3. Click on “Join Now”
  4. Choose “Web Participant” when prompted
  5. Dial in to the Conference Line when prompted.
  6. Once you close the “Conference Line” window, you should see your name in the top right-hand corner under “Participants” section.

Please Note: Please log into the training site approximately 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.
